The Harlot is a derringer-like break-open single shot pistol chambered in .22lr. It is meant to be a cheap, simple, and effective.
The main files have had two minor revisions:
The harlot has also received a bit of media attention after a user printed about 60 of them, for an estimated $3 apiece, and sold them to a gun buyback program in Houston for a $3000 profit [1] [2] [3]
As with many primarily printed designs that are expected to survive more than one shot the harlot uses a metal tube or 22lr barrel liner, likely requiring either a 22 chamber cutting tool or a #1 drill bit and some patience.
In order to comply with US laws the pistol must use the rifled liner (something it should probably do anyway) and not the smoothbore tube.
In order to comply with US law 3.7oz of needless metal weight must be added to the frame. The project comes with optional spacers to help meet this requirement.
Some people have reported the springs recommended by the build guide are too weak and recommend longer, heavier alternatives.
With the possible exception of the optional 22 barrel liner all parts are uncontrolled and uncontrollable. McMaster-Carr parts numbers are included.
A reasonably cheap parts kit is offered by db-firearms for people too lazy to source the bolts and springs themselves.
Various patterned derivatives are offered, originally commercially but now free of charge, by Moderator Gage of the Black Lotus Coalition:
