This section is for receiver-based projects. Base refers to the parent firearm the build is based on. Receiver-only builds rely on commercially available parts and are popular in regions where non-receiver (pressure bearing) parts are unrestricted, such as the US of A.

Hybrid builds are builds that don't require (many) gun parts but do require a lot of non-3d printed hardware. These builds require more traditional construction skills than receiver builds, but as their nature typically eschews using controlled parts they are popular in regions where firearm availability is limited.

A primarily printed build requires very few parts which are not made from a 3d printer. Most of these are proofs of concepts and should not be printed; viable projects will therefore be in bold.

Flare launchers are deserving of thair own category. They usually do not require many if any gun parts but are not primarily printed as they DO require metal tubing for barrel as well as metal firing pins and often metal mounting hardware.
So long as the launchers are not used to fire anything but flares they are not affected by the National Firearms Act in the USA. Such launchers are primarily designed for low pressure or black powder DIY cartridges.

For the most part blueprints are only useful to people with machine shops and the skills to use them. They can also make a good base for new designs.
